Revelstoke Search and Rescue

Revelstoke Search and Rescue (REVSAR) is a volunteer run organization. REVSAR has conducted Ground Search and Rescue operations in and around Revelstoke and outlying areas since 1952. Volunteers are highly trained, many are leading specialists in search and rescue techniques, avalanche science, incident command systems, communications, planning and logistics. REVSAR provides a number of search and rescue services. Speciality Teams include the:

  • Snowmobile Rescue Team
  • Helicopter Rescue Team: Class D Fixed Line (CDFL) or Helicopter Evacuation Transportation Systems (HETS) Team
  • Avalanche Rescue Team
  • Rope Rescue Team
  • Swift-water Rescue Team
  • Canine Search Team
