Social Work services provide counselling regarding: abuse and neglect related to older, vulnerable adults; client and family adjustment to changes in health including dementia; financial concerns; locating resources, development of community resources to support clients; advanced care planning; palliative care and bereavement.  Referrals can be through a medical professional or self.

Community Connections (Revelstoke) Society

The professional counsellors at Community Connections are committed to building constructive and collaborative partnerships with individuals and families seeking support. Their practice is inclusive, client-centered and sensitive to culture, gender and spirituality. Counselling services provided at Community Connections include individual, family and group.

The team have a range of professional backgrounds including Social Work education and registration, Psychology, Early Childhood Education and Educational Assistant Programs, and are committed to ongoing professional development.

Counselling services are funded by the Government of British Columbia through the Ministry of Children and Family Development and Ministry of Community Services as well as contracted Employee Assistance Program Providers.

Ministry of Children and Family Development

The Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) provides support to families in their efforts for positive and healthy relationships. Services offered include individual and family support, social work, child and youth mental health, foster care, respite, adoption and protective services. The local office works alongside community and families to engage formal and informal supports toward the goal of healthy families.
