Ministry of Children and Family Development

The Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) provides support to families in their efforts for positive and healthy relationships. Services offered include individual and family support, social work, child and youth mental health, foster care, respite, adoption and protective services. The local office works alongside community and families to engage formal and informal supports toward the goal of healthy families.

Revelstoke Child Care Society

The Revelstoke Child Care Society (RCCS) is a non-profit organization that strives to promote awareness of, and access to, quality child care options. RCCS links families and child care providers by offering free consultaion, support, and referral services to parents seeking child care. The society builds partnerships that enhance the development of all children in Revelstoke, including events, workshops and support for community-wide programming. RCCS-run programs include the Early Learning Lending Library, Leap Land Indoor Playground, Play in the Park Summer Drop-In, two Child Care Centres, and the Revelstoke Child Care Resource and Referral Program (CCRR).

CCRR supports parents with information about quality child care choices and early childhood development, as well as in-person consultations on the Affordable Child Care Benefit (AACB). Free child care referrals are made to: Registered License Not Required Family Child Care, Licensed Family Child Care, Licensed In Home Multi Aged Family Child Care, Licensed Group Child Care and Preschool.

CCRR supports child care providers with training and learning opportunities, access to resources, start-up assistance, parent referrals, and more.

Revelstoke Early Years Centre and Early Childhood Development

A centre and key contact for families, supports, services and programs that support healthy growth and early learning for young children aged 0 – 6 years. Revelstoke envisions a caring community that acknowledges, values and supports the shared responsibility of investing in young children so they may live, learn, play and dream in safe and healthy surroundings. This includes information for expecting parents, on health & development, Ready Set Learn, StrongStart, Leap Land indoor playground, and the biannual Children’s Free Toy & Clothing Exchange among others.
