Emotional and physical care after sexual assault is very important, and many resources in Revelstoke can offer information and care around trauma response, follow-up support and police reporting options that best fit survivors’ needs. We are here to help you.
Sexual assault is a crime. It is never the survivor’s fault and can happen to anyone by anyone, regardless of age, ability, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender, or socio-economic status. It can occur with an intimate partner, ex-partner, family, friend, teacher, coach, co-worker, acquaintance, stranger, and/or be drug-related or cyber-related.
Queen Victoria Hospital Emergency Department is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide trauma/medical support and talk about options including medical and legal choices for your care; our nurses and doctors will support you in whatever you choose. We are respectfully committed to provide patient-centered, compassionate, culturally sensitive, gender neutral, quality care that ensures you control the choices concerning your care.
Call 911 for an emergency response – OR – during regular hours, please report to the front desk using the front entrance of the hospital: Monday to Friday 7 am – 7:30 pm, Saturday & Sunday 8 am – 7:30 pm. After hours – at all other times – report to the emergency entrance up the ramp on the left of the hospital building, through the side door.
