Alcoholics Anonymous (AA)
Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of people who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism.
The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking.
There are no dues or fees for A.A. membership; we are self supporting through our own contributions. A.A. is not allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organization or institution; does
not wish to engage in any controversy, neither endorses nor opposes any causes. Our primary purpose is to stay sober and help other alcoholics to achieve sobriety.

Revelstoke’s Harm Reduction and Opioid Addiction Treatment (OAT) in an Interior Health based clinic at Queen Victoria Hospital (QVH) to provide addictions services. This clinic is a branch of the Salmon Arm Addictions clinic that has been very successful with it’s novel approach through a multidisciplinary team to provide holistic treatment to addiction. They primarily focus on the treatment of opiate addiction through opiate replacement therapy, the medical management of associated mental health issues and psychosocial support. Patients are seen by a physician and a registered psychiatric nurse or mental health counsellor on a regular basis. To ensure regular access to services, they have implemented telehealth video conferencing so that patients can be seen weekly at QVH even if the physician is at another location. Additional services this clinic will provide is the review of opiate management for patients on long term opiates and management of poly-substance abuse.

Community Mental Health and Substance Use Services include individual and group counselling, facilitation of Psychiatrist consultations, urgent and emergent intervention, and case management services. These services are covered by the BC Medical Services Plan and individuals can self-refer or be referred by a family physician or social agency.
Adult Substance Use Services – Adult Substance Use Services offers counselling, support and educational services for people 19 and over wishing to reduce or quit their use of substances. A range of services, all offered in collaboration with clients; include individual and group counselling as well as referral to treatment centres and other resources.
Additional Related Substance Use Services – Additional Related Substance Use Services include Opioid Agonist Treatment (OAT Clinic-Methadone and Suboxone Access) needle exchange, as well as outreach services.
